Acceptance of these terms

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Resume Reviewer website and review tool (the "Service"), operated by Caleb and David ("Resume Reviewer," "we," "us," or "our"). By using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the Service.

The Service

Resume Reviewer asks you a set of targeted questions about your background and goals, then uses an AI model to generate an analysis, keyword recommendations, a rewritten resume, and — optionally — a cover letter. The core resume review is free and is intended to stay free. We may introduce optional paid add-ons in the future; if we do, we'll present their price and terms clearly before you're charged anything, and we'll update these Terms to reflect them.

Eligibility

You must be at least 16 years old to use the Service, or have a parent or guardian's permission if you're younger. By using the Service, you represent that you meet this requirement, that the information you submit is either your own or you have the right to submit it, and that it's accurate to the best of your knowledge.

Your account

Creating an account is optional and free — it lets you save your progress and come back to a finished resume later. You're responsible for keeping your login credentials confidential and for all activity that happens under your account. If you believe your account has been accessed without your permission, contact us right away.

Your content

You keep all rights to the resume, answers, and other information you submit through the Service ("Your Content"). By submitting it, you give us a limited license to use Your Content solely to operate and provide the Service to you — for example, sending it to our AI provider to generate your review, or storing it so you can retrieve it later. We don't use Your Content to train our own models, sell it, or use it for advertising (see the Privacy Policy for the full detail on how it's handled).

You're responsible for making sure Your Content doesn't violate anyone's rights and doesn't include anything unlawful. Don't submit someone else's private information — another real person's resume, contact details, or personal history — without their permission.

AI-generated output

The questions, analysis, rewritten resume, and cover letter the Service produces are generated by an AI model. AI output can be wrong, incomplete, or state things about you that aren't accurate — the prompts behind the Service are written to avoid inventing facts or metrics, but we can't guarantee it never happens. You're responsible for reading, fact-checking, and editing anything the Service generates before you rely on it or send it to an employer. The Service is a drafting and feedback tool, not career, legal, or professional advice, and we don't guarantee any particular outcome — including whether you get an interview or a job — from using it.

Acceptable use

When using the Service, you agree not to:

• Submit unlawful content, or content that infringes someone else's rights.
• Impersonate another real person, or submit their private information without authorization.
• Attempt to disrupt, overload, or gain unauthorized access to the Service or its underlying systems.
• Scrape, systematically extract data from, or reverse-engineer the Service.
• Use the Service to build a competing product using our prompts, questions, or generated output.

Fees

The core resume review is free today and we intend to keep it that way. If we introduce a paid add-on (for example, a premium cover letter feature), we'll show you the price and get your agreement before charging you anything, and we'll update these Terms to describe the payment terms at that point.

Our intellectual property

The Service itself — its software, design, text, and branding, apart from Your Content — belongs to us or our licensors. These Terms don't transfer any of that to you beyond the limited right to use the Service as intended.

Third-party services

The Service depends on third-party infrastructure to run — most notably Anthropic's Claude API to generate your review, and our hosting provider to serve the site and store your data (see the Privacy Policy for the full list). We aren't responsible for outages, errors, or issues caused by those third-party systems, though we'll do what we reasonably can to keep the Service working.

Disclaimer of warranties

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory, including any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, or accuracy of the AI-generated output. We don't warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Resume Reviewer and its operators won't be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, opportunities, or data, arising from your use of the Service — including any job outcome, interview, or offer you don't receive. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the greater of $100 USD or the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose (which, for the free tier, is $0).

Some jurisdictions don't allow the exclusion or limitation of certain damages, so some of the limitations above may not apply to you.

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from any claims, damages, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your misuse of the Service, Your Content, or your violation of these Terms.

Termination

You may stop using the Service at any time, and may request that we delete your account and data as described in the Privacy Policy. We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service if you violate these Terms, or for any other reason, with notice where practical. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination — including Your Content licensing scope for data already processed, disclaimers, and limitation of liability — will survive.

Changes

We may update these Terms or modify, add to, or discontinue features of the Service from time to time. If we make a material change to these Terms, we'll update the "last updated" date above and, where practical, note it on the site. Continuing to use the Service after a change means you accept the updated Terms.

Governing law & disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles. Any dispute that can't be resolved informally will be handled in the state or federal courts located in Los Angeles County, California. If you have a dispute with us, please contact us first — see "Contact us" below — so we can try to resolve it informally before anything more formal.

Miscellaneous

These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, are the entire agreement between you and us regarding the Service. If any provision is found unenforceable, the rest remain in effect. Our failure to enforce a provision isn't a waiver of it. You may not assign your rights under these Terms without our consent; we may assign ours in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.
